Depression is the most negative word and also getting too common in current scenario. Depression is a devastating mood disorder that is gripping more number of people across the world. This low mood disorder affects a person’s mental attitude, feelings, behavior and sense of well being. Around 350 million people of all age groups are experiencing the signs of depression and 13% of Americans are on antidepressants, the figure just ups for 25% for women under 50s.

Loss of interest: You end up losing interest in your activities that once were your hobbies/passion such as outdoor activities, sports, social outings, inactive sex, food, games, reading etc.
Changed Feelings: Depression is a low mood disorder that cripples your normal life in a big way. Common symptom of depression is associated with feeling of helplessness, hopelessness, self hate, guilt feeling etc.

Sleep Changes: The reason you might discontinue doing things once that were an essential part of your life due to tiredness, less sleep, feeling lethargic, lack of energy, at times excessive sleeping, lack of quality sleep leading to anxiety.

Reckless behavior: When you are in depression you take up dangerous stunts, reckless driving, become an escapist, compulsive gambling and abusive behavior.

Irritability and Anxiety: Depression victims show irritable and anxious behavior. Tolerance level is low, show distorted anger over petty issues and even violent.

Loss of Weight and Appetite: Loss of weight and appetite differs from person to person, the fluctuation differs with major depression. Some will see weight gain and increased appetite and some lose weight and wont be hungry at all. Another factor to be noticed is if it is intentional or not, if they are not then there is some serious issue to be solved.

Emotional Disorder: One moment you are angry the other second you are unable to control tears, these quick changes are not prompted by you but your emotions are fluctuating every moment. Depression can change your mood in minutes notice keeping you away from being calm.

Concentration problem/ Brain Fog: Having difficulty in concentrating, trouble in making decisions and focusing. Self Loathing/Dislike: Self criticizing, feeling of guilt and worthlessness.
