What’s The HYPE of Feminism?

Feminism is a social and political movement based on the ideology of having equal rights in the society sharing common goal of accomplishing, achieving economic, social and political rights just like men. It is social movement to acquire equality based on gender, and fight for everyone’s freedom to follow happiness and basically to provide justice for women.

Feminism began as a ground breaking idea with a basic concept of promoting equality for women, this idea instead of support grabbed men’s wrath due to overhype of the feminist activities. It is definitely the need of the hour in the country but some of the political activists have interpreted the whole idea wrongly. It is a noble cause indeed to fight for ones rights but the way it is carried out has brought negative replies from the other sex.

Women have received certain percentage of seat reservation in public transportation this shows that they are going far away or being alienated from men than being with them. Seats reserved for physically challenged, pregnant and old women is acceptable, by this seat reservation they are showing men that they are weak, vulnerable and incompetent. In metros the whole coach is meant for women instead strong security system could have been introduced.

Everyone is free to enjoy rights in any nation but saying it in a wrong way will not get you what you want. The more you shout the less you will be heard. With a proper discussion anything can be achieved but few feminist activists have shown the negative side of their fight. The better way to make people understand about women empowerment is to talk not shout.

Today feminism isn’t about fighting for others rights but it is all about fighting for your place; the activists easily switch sides according to their convenience. They want to gain sympathy for every little thing that has gone wrong with or without male’s involvement. They want to get equal rights but don’t want to work as hard as men. In another case if a man self defenses himself by hitting, kicking or clinching a woman is termed as women abuser which is not right, when women fights back for her self defense men also have the right to do so. Well according to social activists it is right for a woman to brutally abuse a man and it is a crime if the man does the same. Feminism has reached another level after rape cases in several places, because of few rapists the whole male society is under scanner and termed as culprits. Feminism isn’t about shaming the other gender it is all about walking together to empower ourselves to build a great country with people living for others and empowering each other.

Educating women is very essential she should know how to survive in a male dominated society as pictured from time immemorial. India has seen great women fighters who fought for theirs and the women’s rights but in a respectable manner. Today the feminism scenario has changed and every second day women get on the roads with placards shaming the government, or any other group which is not the right way to deal with serious issues. Talk and get solutions for the problems should be the mantra instead of shouts, cries and accusations.

Women are powerful but do not disgrace yourself with few political shows, fight with grace and the world will respect and support you for your graceful fight, don’t look for sympathy look for respect. Don’t be a rebel for no reason fight your fights of equality and be a winner.
