PM Modi Wins TIME Readers’ Poll !!
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has created history by winning the reader’s poll for TIME ‘Person of the Year 2016’.
PM Modi has been making news and sensations across the globe since 2014, after becoming PM of India. He made it into the global papers when he decided to ratify the Paris Climate-Change Pact earlier this year. Furthermore, his intense engagements in national development schemes in India & most recent demonetisation initiative to wipe of black money, has been considered the most radical and bold moves by an Indian PM, spurred a global reaction. Many came out in support of the move, while others criticised it.
Mr. Modi after consuming 18 per cent of the vote, significantly giving a blow to his closest rivals, including U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange. The rise of India in world, has been demonstrated by PM Mr. Modi.
The Indian Prime Minister was also much ahead of other prominent figures, including Facebook founder Mr. Mark Zuckerberg and U.S. presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (4 per cent), TIME disclosed.
